Profesora titular de la Facultad de Comunicación y Letras de la Universidad Diego Portales, actualmente ejerce como directora del Centro de Investigación en Comunicación, Literatura y Observación Social de la misma universidad (CICLOS-UDP).

Su investigación se centra en el acceso y uso de nuevas tecnologías e inequidad digital; activismo online y justicia social; y sociología de los medios. Además, fue Tinker Visiting Professor de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison durante 2018-2019.
